Before news on the Sonics cools off over the next few days, KJR in Seattle did an amusing read of Clay Bennett’s groveling attempt to seduce e-mail to the NBA commissioner. If you don’t see it, then you’re reading this a week or something after this post was made.
Some guy I took for granted years ago once said it was always a good idea to write things down. Especially for important things in life, like homework. Naturally, the entire school district thought his idea was great, and subsequently, all middle and high school students in the district were got free agendas and planners. I tried it out for a while, but then I just thought it was a waste of time. I also thought homework was a waste of time too though.
I still think those sort of things are a waste. The only sort of related things I have is my class schedule on my iPod, only used for the first week or so, so I know where to go for classes. After that, I don’t really look at it ever again. And then for my job, I put my schedule in Outlook for appointments/workshop related purposes.
But sometimes it’s nice to talk about the things you are going to do. Sometimes it really does help make things run smoother.
Vancouver – I don’t think I really have an excuse for not visiting Vancouver. It’s not very far away from Bellingham, I have a passport, and I am fascinated by big cities. But, I’ve already ordered tickets for a one-day excursion into the northernmost metropolis in the Pacific Northwest roughly two weeks from now. My only regret is that I didn’t schedule the trip sooner.
More immediate matters – I didn’t realize how hard it was to go without TV until baseball season started. So if I’m not too lazy tomorrow, and the weather isn’t absolutely horrible, then I’ll see to about getting cable TV in this dinky little room. I’d like to pick up an SD card as well. And well, there’s not that much to do for the weekend anyway, aside from the usual things that I procrastinate on anyway.
Also, it looks like the Mariner’s shortstop (Yunie Betancourt) hit such an awesome triple that it broke MLB Gameday. Another reason to get cable working.
Websites – Partially related to my job, I’ve been wanting to create some websites. One idea I have is one that’s been in the back of my head is sort of a record of all the grammatical structures, some kanji, and expressions on the Japanese language that you can’t really find on the internet, or the textbook. I don’t know where to start, and to be honest, I’m not even sure that some of the things I learned are still accurate today (the textbook used in my classes is as old as I am (1987), and it seems that even some of the transfer students don’t even understand it).
Then there are other academic related matters, but those are for other posts, maybe.
